2011 Legislative Assembly election Mr. N.A Nellikkunnu was won from Kasargod Legislative assembly which is the candidate of Indian Union Muslim League (UDF). Jayalakshmi N Bhatt was the Runner up which is the candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (NDA). 2014 Indian General Election Mr. P.Karunakaran won from Kasargod Loksabha constituency (CPIM candidate - Left Democratic Front). Unfortunately, In kasargod Legislative Assembly, LDF got only third place with 22,867 votes. T sidhique(UDF) got 54,426 votes and K Surendran(NDA) reached second place with 41,236 Votes.
