Mattannur is the one of the Legislative Assembly Constituency in Kannur District, Kerala. In 2011 Communist Party of India (Marxist) which is the part of Left Democratic Front Candidate E.P Jayarajan won from the Mattannur LAC with the Margin of 30512 votes. E.P Jayarajan Secured 75177 vote. Socialist Janata (Democratic) - UDF candidate Joseph Chavara became runner up with 44665 Votes. BJP / NDA Candidate Biju Elakkuzhi (8707 Votes) and Social Democratic Party of India Candidate KC Muhammed Sabeer (4th Place with 2757 Votes) and BSP Candidate Hameed (783 Votes).
