1st LOKSABHA ELECTION RESULT - 1951
































The First Loksabha election was conducted on 1951. The Indian National Congress get a Landslide victory in 1951 Loksabha election. The Indian National Congress Was secured 364 Loksabha seats out of 489 seats as well as INC scored 45% of total polled votes in India. Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru became first democratically elected prime minister in india. The voter turnout was 45.7%. He was won from Phulpur Loksabha Constituency. Mr. Shripat Amrit Dange was the opposition leader of Loksabha in 1951 - 1957. He was won from Bombay City North as a candidate of Communist Party of India (CPI). CPI was the Second Largest Party in the Loksabha at 1951, CPI secured only 16 seats with 3.29% Polled Votes.
