Communist Party of India (Marxist) / CPI(M) one of the main political party in India, it was formed on 1964. Presently Mr. Prakash Karat is the Secretary general of CPI(M). P. Karunakaran is the present Loksabha leader & Sitaram Yechuri is the Rajyasabha leader. party has 9 MP's in Loksabha and 9 MP's in Rajyasabha. Currently CPIM has 147 MLA's in India. CPIM has strongest base in Tripura, West Bengal and Kerala.
